During the trip along the route of Krakow’s saints and blesseds, you will have the opportunity to visit Krakow’s oldest and most beautiful churches and monastery cloisters with our guide, to learn not only about their history and architecture, but most of all stories and legends about them. You will see the relics of saints associated with Krakow.

A guided tour of Krakow trail of saints and blessed will start at the Basilica of St. Florian. In the church, you will learn why the Roman soldier became the patron saint of Krakow and hear amazing legends about fires and stubborn oxen. You will see the Church of St. Mark, where Blessed Michał Giedroyć is worshiped, The Church of St. Casimir the Prince, where the sanctuary of St. Kazimierz is located and the Carmelite Church dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Piasek, where you will see the “the little foot of Queen Jadwiga”. In the St. Mary’s Basilica, next to the beautiful Slacker crucifix by Wit Stwosz, you will hear the story of Svyatoslav the Silent – the patron of good confession, while in the Collegiate Church of St. Anna at the grave of St. John Cantius, you will hear about highwaymen, pitchers and the miraculous turning of water into milk. In the Dominican Basilica of the Holy Trinity, our guide will tell you about the life and activities of St. Jacek. In he Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi you will learn about life and miracouls of Blessed Salomea, Blessed Aniela Salawa and St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe. On the way to Wawel, you will visit the Church of St. Bernardino of Siena to learn about the amazing story of St. Simon of Lipnica. In the Wawel Cathedral, you will see the Altar of St. Stanislaus with its remains and you will see the relics of St. Jadwiga and you will learn interesting information about the Black Crucifix. Our Professional guide will also show you the Basilica on Skałka – the place of worship of St. Stanislaus, will tell you about the Church of St. Catherine and Margaret, where St. Rita and Blessed Isaiah Boner and the Church of Corpus Christi, where you will hear about St. Stanisław Kaźmierczyk. You will end your tour at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki, where you will learn the story of St. Faustina Kowalska, while in the nearby Sanctuary of St. John Paul II you will learn the figure of the Great Pole, the Pope.

How long it takes and what to know

Duration

The route normally takes Duration 2 – 4 hours. We adjust the pace and the scope to the group, so if you have less time we will shorten it without dropping what matters most.

Admission tickets

The guiding fee does not cover admission to museums and ticketed sites. Several of them sell timed entry and are often booked out days ahead in season, so it is worth mentioning them when you book.

Before you set off

What to bring

Every route is walked, at a pace suited to the group. A few small things will simply make it more comfortable:

  • Comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking, and much of the Old Town is cobbled.
  • Water, especially in summer. We pass shops and cafés, though not always when you want one.
  • Clothing suited to the weather. A hat and sunglasses in the heat, an umbrella or rain jacket in spring and autumn.
  • Some cash in Polish currency. Most places take cards, but not all. The currency in Poland is the złoty (PLN).
  • A charged phone or camera. There will be plenty worth photographing.
  • Any documents that entitle you to a discount, such as a school, student or pensioner card.
