A sober account of the occupation years. The places, the events and the lives written into the fabric of the city.
Kraków during the Second World War with a guide: what you will see
You will visit the exhibition titled ‘Kraków Under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945.’ which is housed in the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler factory. You will see the remains of the wall of the Jewish Ghetto and the Ghetto Heroes’ Square which was once the ghetto’s central part. We will walk around the streets of the ghetto to then move to the area of Płaszów camp (formely a labour and then concentration camp).
Who this tour is for
This is one of the routes we are asked for most often. It works as a first meeting with Kraków, and just as well as a return after some years away.
- Independent travellers and families
- Organised groups, school parties included
- Visitors from abroad, since we also guide in English
How long it takes and what to know
Duration
The route normally takes 3 – 4 h. We adjust the pace and the scope to the group, so if you have less time we will shorten it without dropping what matters most.
Admission tickets
The guiding fee does not cover admission to museums and ticketed sites. Several of them sell timed entry and are often booked out days ahead in season, so it is worth mentioning them when you book.
Booking a date
Tell us how many of you there are, when you plan to come and roughly how much time you have. We normally reply the same day, with a suggested route and a price.
